The Class of 2025 at Leysin American School had an amazing graduation ceremony over the weekend. The event was both emotional and uplifting, as students, families, and faculty united to celebrate years of hard work and get excited about their upcoming futures! We can’t wait to see what this remarkable group of graduates will accomplish next, and we look forward to welcoming them at Global Family events around the world!
The weekend began with a reception at the Fromagerie in Leysin Village. This wine and cheese event allowed guests to learn about the rich history of one of Leysin’s most iconic restaurants. The event was perfect for socializing, and attendees had the chance to connect with students, faculty, and other families.
The sun shone on this year’s graduation day, and our students wore red graduation gowns and caps. We loved celebrating their achievements alongside their friends and family, who traveled to Leysin from all over the world. Graduating from high school is such a big milestone, and our students should be so proud of everything they have accomplished along the way. They will always have a home in Leysin and join a community of thousands of LAS alumni across the world! Wherever they go, they’re never too far from someone who has had a shared experience of the Magic Mountain.
The ceremony included opening words by the beloved Mr. Ryan Healey, beautiful singing from LAS Staff & Students with Choir League Leysin, the Senior Awards presentation, and so much more! One element of the ceremony was the Commencement Address by alum Holly Hines ‘94, who inspired our new graduates with her uplifting words. Each student also had the opportunity to walk across the stage and celebrate their achievements. The following students won awards:
Sigrid & Fred Ott Founders Award: Shrika
Faculty Award for Innovation: Ora
Maurizio Fabbri Award for Compassion: William
Award for Responsibility: Donald
ECIS Award for International Understanding: Yovyta
Doris & Steven Ott Award for Excellence: Chawapol
