The small school, supporting your child all the way

The beauty of a small school is that there is a very personalised support of students. At Brillantmont, our Vision and Mission are at the heart of what we do, as we help students reach their full potential in our British IGCSE and A Level programme and our High School Diploma.

Clear learning objectives

Students know what they need to study as the teachers clearly define the content covered, the academic objectives, the methodology and the grading system. It is crucial that students understand where they are academically and that they can reach out for further support if needed.

Small class sizes

At Brillantmont, the average class size is 9 students, however some 11th and 12th Grade classes may have around 5-6 students, since not everyone is going to opt of the same subjects. These small classes facilitate personalised attention, fostering a conducive environment for student engagement and active participation. This allows teachers to tailor their approach, address individual needs, and create a more interactive, student-centred learning experience.

Building confidence

Small class sizes build student confidence simply because the learning environment is more collaborative. Consequently, students feel more comfortable and less exposed, when sharing their thoughts and ideas than they might in a larger school.
Brillantmont’s teachers support students through personalised attention and regular feedback, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

Clear learning objectives

In every class, students know what they need to study as the teachers clearly define the content to be covered, the learning objectives, the methodology and the grading system. It is crucial that students understand where they are academically and that they can reach out for further support if needed.

Global Citizenship

Within our classes, students will become global citizens. They will learn to work together, use different languages, apply varied perspectives and develop cultural awareness and sensitivity. They will learn to question, to challenge and become independent, critical thinkers. They will be prepared for the rapidly changing world in which we live.

Joining the dots

Boarding school life isn’t just about the academics; rather, it’s the whole experience that helps the student grow and learn. Internally, we use a system called the “portfolio.” This remarkable tool, developed by our Head of Boarding, helps us fully support the student on a daily basis. It enables us to monitor all aspects of school life, such as to rapidly identify when a student needs extra support, emotionally or academically, encourage participation in school activities and celebrate good work, active participation and accomplishments.
