Directors of the Swiss Learning Schools recently came together

The Directors of the Swiss Learning Schools recently came together to talk about the questions they’re asked most often: what is it really like to study in Switzerland and to live in a boarding school, and what makes it so special?
In an open and engaging discussion, they shared insights into everyday life at Swiss schools, from the high academic standards and multilingual classrooms to the strong emphasis on independence, responsibility, and personal growth in international Swiss boarding schools. They also talked about learning beyond textbooks—how outdoor education, cultural diversity, and real-world experiences play a key role in shaping students.

The conversation highlighted that studying in Switzerland is about much more than academics. It’s about balance, international perspectives, and preparing young people to feel confident, capable, and ready for the world—both in and out of the classroom.

Artificial intelligence will be one of the defining challenges for boarding schools in the coming decade. The key is not only to integrate it, but to use it with discernment  understanding both its potential and its limits. At the same time, preserving human connection and deep learning remains essential.
